Marrakesh has always been a city I’ve adored visiting as a solo traveller, and as a

woman, I’ve found it both welcoming and safe. This trip was no exception, and I

discovered even more reasons to fall in love with this vibrant Moroccan gem.

El Fenn: Spa Bliss and Rooftop Perfection

This time, I treated myself to a spa session and lunch at El Fenn—a boutique hotel

that’s nothing short of iconic. If it’s good enough for Madonna, it’s good enough for

me! The spa experience was pure indulgence, with traditional Moroccan treatments

that left me feeling utterly refreshed.

Afterward, I headed to their rooftop for lunch, and let me tell you, the views were

incredible. With the Atlas Mountains in the distance and the bustling medina below, it

was the perfect backdrop for a leisurely meal. The food? Deliciously fresh and

beautifully presented, making it a highlight of my trip.

Exploring Le Jardin

Le Jardin is another spot not to be missed. Nestled within the medina, it’s a lush

oasis of greenery and calm. The blend of traditional Moroccan architecture with

modern touches creates an atmosphere that feels both timeless and chic. It’s a great

spot for a quiet coffee or a light meal—especially if you need a break from the lively

streets outside.

Where to Stay: All-Inclusive vs. Riads

This time, I opted for an all-inclusive resort outside the main square. While it offered

plenty of convenience and relaxation, I have to say, I missed the charm of staying in

a riad. I did check out a place which has been on my list, Riad Sakkan. With its super

cool style, impeccable design, and intimate atmosphere, it’s the kind of place that

makes you feel like you’ve stepped into a Moroccan dream.

Feeling Safe as a Solo Female Traveler

One thing I always get asked is whether Marrakesh is safe for women traveling

alone. From my experience, it absolutely is. The locals are friendly and respectful,

and as long as you follow basic travel precautions—like dressing modestly and

staying aware of your surroundings—you’ll feel comfortable exploring the city.

Why Marrakesh Will Always Call Me Back

Marrakesh is a city that knows how to enchant. Whether I’m getting pampered at a

luxe spa, wandering the medina’s labyrinthine streets, or simply sipping tea on a

rooftop, it’s a place that makes me feel alive and inspired. It’s a destination I’ll return

to again and again, always ready to uncover its next layer of magic.

If you’re a solo traveller looking for adventure, style, and a touch of indulgence,

Marrakesh should definitely be on your list.
